“Start each day with a positive thought and a grateful heart.”
Being Thankful for what we already have.
To me this is one of the main actions I take to help my mental health daily.
If I let me head wonder it will take to me to all negative places and focus on all the stuff that is wrong in my life which then leads to anxiety for me and feeling overwhelmed, feeling sorry for myself and passing judgement on others.
One simple action like gratitude takes me back to reality and makes me realise life is not that bad and I can then ground myself and get on with my day and making it a productive one.
Gratitude turns what we have into enough!!!!!!!
A good way to practice gratitude is to write down 3 things you are grateful for and say them out loud (when possible)
Gratitude helps ground me and helps me be more appreciative of what I already have instead of complaining about what I don’t…….
Below is a nice poem
“Dare to Be
When a new day begins, dare to smile gratefully.
When there is darkness, dare to be the first to shine a light.
When there is injustice, dare to be the first to condemn it.
When something seems difficult, dare to do it anyway.
When life seems to beat you down, dare to fight back.
When there seems to be no hope, dare to find some.
When you’re feeling tired, dare to keep going.
When times are tough, dare to be tougher.
When love hurts you, dare to love again.
When someone is hurting, dare to help them heal.
When another is lost, dare to help them find the way.
When a friend falls, dare to be the first to extend a hand.
When you cross paths with another, dare to make them smile.
When you feel great, dare to help someone else feel great too.
When the day has ended, dare to feel as you’ve done your best.
Dare to be the best you can –
At all times, Dare to be!”
